Product Engineer

Own meaningful work from problem definition through implementation.

As a Product Engineer, you’ll work directly with clients and Pragmatk teammates to understand business operations, identify the right intervention, shape the product or system, and help deliver it. This is not a traditional ticket-based engineering role: you’ll make decisions, manage ambiguity, challenge weak assumptions, and remain accountable for whether the solution works.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Lead discovery for a workflow, product area, or engagement workstream.
• Translate business objectives into product requirements, system behaviors, user experiences, and implementation plans.
• Map processes and identify opportunities to reduce manual work, cost, and cycle time.
• Design and build software features, integrations, automations, AI-enabled tools, and operational workflows.
• Work with clients to clarify priorities, evaluate tradeoffs, and maintain alignment.
• Break complex initiatives into achievable releases without losing sight of the outcome.
• Evaluate where AI is genuinely useful and where conventional software or process improvement is better.
• Monitor quality, adoption, and business results after launch.
• Mentor Associate Product Engineers and surface risks early.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
• You independently lead a substantial workstream from ambiguity to release.
• You understand both the user experience and the operational system behind it.
• You earn client trust through clear thinking, reliable execution, and direct communication.
• You improve a measurable business outcome while balancing speed, quality, maintainability, and commercial reality.
• You create reusable value and help junior team members grow.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
• Approximately 3–6 years in software engineering, product development, automation, technical consulting, digital transformation, or a related field.
• Evidence that you’ve launched and operated real products or business systems.
• Strong capability in one core discipline and willingness to work across adjacent disciplines.
• Experience defining requirements and evaluating tradeoffs directly with stakeholders.
• Working knowledge of modern software architecture, APIs, data flows, integrations, and deployment practices.
• Practical experience with AI tools, models, agents, or automation platforms.
• Strong product judgment and clear written, verbal, and visual communication.

This role may not be right for you if you define your responsibility only by assigned tasks, need every requirement settled before making progress, prioritize novelty over reliability, or believe delivery ends when code is merged.
